His research centers on patristics, with deep expertise in Origen of Alexandria and Augustine of Hippo. Dr. Blosser explores theological anthropology, early Christian thought, and the synthesis of ancient philosophy with Christian doctrine. His publications Positively Medieval and Become Like the Angels: Origen’s Doctrine of the Soul demonstrate his focus on historical theological development across antiquity and medieval periods.
His scholarly output reveals consistent engagement with patristic exegesis, soul doctrine evolution, and medieval theological frameworks. The works collectively emphasize continuity in Christian intellectual tradition from early church fathers through medieval scholasticism.
- Benedictine College Educator of the Year (2019)
Dr. Blosser previously contributed to theological policy development at the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops before joining Benedictine College. As Department Chair since 2021, he oversees curriculum development and faculty mentorship while maintaining active engagement in student advisement within theology programs.
