James Wilmott is an NHMRC Investigator Fellow and Research Fellow at the Melanoma Institute Australia, affiliated with the University of Sydney's Charles Perkins Centre. His work focuses on translational research integrating clinicopathology, genomics, and immunology to improve melanoma diagnosis, prognosis, and immunotherapy personalization. He leads major programs like the Personalised Immunotherapy Program (PIPdx), funded by the Cancer Institute NSW ($3.7M, 2022-2026), and collaborates internationally on projects studying drug resistance mechanisms and rare melanoma subtypes.
