James Weeden is an Adjunct Professor in the Mind-Body Medicine Department at Saybrook University. He holds a B.S. from Pennsylvania State University (2009), an M.S. from California University of Pennsylvania (2015), and an Ed.D from the University of Pittsburgh (2019). His expertise spans Health and Wellness Coaching, Motivational Interviewing, Integrative Medicine, and Community Health Education. He currently works at a Pittsburgh health insurance company and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) as an On-site Health Coach, focusing on tobacco cessation and health program development.
Dr. Weeden’s research emphasizes applying telemedicine and behavioral health strategies to improve patient outcomes, particularly in surgical populations. He is a certified National Board-Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBHWC), American College of Sport Medicine Exercise Physiologist (ACSM EP-C), and holds credentials in tobacco treatment practice (ATTUD NCTTP) and health education (NCHEC CHES).
He is an active member of the National Commission for Health Education and the Society for Public Health Education. Beyond academia, he enjoys fitness and sports, reflecting his commitment to holistic health.
