James Warn

Dr James Warn is an Honorary Senior Lecturer with the School of Business at UNSW Canberra, where he teaches leadership and organisational behaviour. His academic career spans multiple disciplines including organisational psychology, leadership studies, and business management.

Dr Warn's research interests focus on leadership in complex situations, road safety culture, community leadership in cultural change, and immigrant entrepreneurship. His work demonstrates a strong interdisciplinary approach, bridging organisational psychology with practical leadership applications in both military and civilian contexts. He has developed expertise in strategic leadership during periods of uncertainty and has made significant contributions to understanding cultural change mechanisms.

His publication record shows consistent output across multiple domains, with recent work focusing on immigrant entrepreneurship (particularly Chinese-Australian business), indigenous leadership across cultural boundaries, and the intersection of road safety with broader societal issues like climate change.
