Dr. James Dolen is Assistant Professor of Physics at Purdue University Northwest, with research focused on high-energy particle physics. He contributes to experiments at CERN and Fermilab, developing detector technologies and machine learning methods for particle identification.
Research includes searches for new particles using the Large Hadron Collider, analysis of top quark production mechanisms, and development of classification algorithms for particle collision data. Teaching integrates computational physics and modern quantum mechanics with classical physics concepts.
As faculty mentor for the QuarkNet Center, he facilitates student research experiences in particle physics and detector development at leading international facilities.
