James Szot

James Szot is a Clinical Associate Professor Emeritus and Emeritus Associate Professor in Executive Education at The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD), affiliated with the Jindal School of Management. He holds a PhD from Skema Business School (2013), an MS from UTD (1996), an MBA from The University of Dallas (1981), and dual engineering degrees (ME and BS) from Cornell University (1977 and 1974). His research focuses on success factors in project management MBA programs and the effectiveness of project simulations in academic and professional development contexts.

Dr. Szot teaches courses including OPRE 6271 (Project Overview), OPRE 6372-6376 (Project Management Lifecycle), and SYSM 6311 (Systems Project Management). He is active in professional organizations such as the Project Management Institute and the Global Accreditation Center for Project Management Education Programs.
