James S. Harrop

James S. Harrop, MD, FACS is a Professor and Division Chief of Spine and Peripheral Nerve Surgery in the Department of Neurosurgery at Sidney Kimmel Medical College, Thomas Jefferson University, based at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

His research focuses on improving neurologic recovery in spinal cord injury patients through early decompression and spinal column reconstruction, while pioneering translational strategies including anti-apoptotic agents, molecular therapy, and stem cell approaches.
