James Riddlesperger, Ph.D., is a Professor of Political Science at Texas Christian University (TCU), affiliated with the AddRan College of Liberal Arts. He has been teaching at TCU since 1982, specializing in American politics, political institutions, and Texas politics. His research focuses on presidential leadership, congressional dynamics, and state-level governance. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Missouri-Columbia (1983), and his M.A. and B.A. from North Texas State University (1980 and 1975).
Dr. Riddlesperger is co-author of multiple influential works, including Texas Politics (14th ed., 2022) and Lone Star Leaders (2011). He has published in journals such as the Journal of Politics, Presidential Studies Quarterly, and Congress and the Presidency. His scholarly contributions have been recognized with awards like the Chancellor’s Award for Creative Teaching and Research.
