James Park is a Professor of Law and Vice Dean for Community, Equality and Justice at the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law since 2013. He holds a B.A. from Miami University (1996) and a J.D. from Yale University (2000). His academic career includes clerkships with federal judges in the Southern District of New York and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, followed by legal practice at a New York law firm and service as Assistant Attorney General in New York's Investor Protection Bureau.
- Research focuses on securities regulation and corporate law, particularly securities fraud and public company integrity
- Author of The Valuation Treadmill: How Securities Fraud Threatens the Integrity of Public Companies (Cambridge University Press, 2022)
- Co-author of business law casebook: Agency, Partnerships, and Limited Liability Entities (Foundation Press, 2025)
Active in academic publishing through journals like California Law Review and Duke Law Journal, Professor Park serves on the Editorial Board of The Business Lawyer. His teaching portfolio includes foundational and advanced courses in corporate and securities law.
