James Maynard is a Professor of Number Theory at the Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford. He completed his undergraduate studies at Cambridge University before pursuing his DPhil at the University of Oxford. Following his doctoral work, Maynard conducted postdoctoral research at institutions including Montreal, Berkeley, Princeton, and Oxford.
- Fields Medal recipient (2022)
- Research focuses on analytic number theory, particularly the distribution of prime numbers
- Affiliated with the Number Theory research group at Oxford
His work integrates techniques from mathematical analysis, combinatorics, and algebra to solve classical problems in number theory. He is based at the Andrew Wiles Building, Radcliffe Observatory Quarter, Woodstock Road, Oxford (OX2 6GG).
