James Luyendyk, PhD, is the Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Michigan State University. He holds affiliations with the departments of Pathobiology & Diagnostic Investigation and Pharmacology & Toxicology. His research focuses on the intersection of blood coagulation and liver toxicity/disease, emphasizing environmental toxicology, immunity, inflammation, and gastroenterology/hepatology. The Luyendyk Lab’s work also explores urology-related pathologies. He teaches courses such as PHM 802 (Cellular, Molecular and Integrated Systems Pharmacology) and PHM 816 (Integrative Toxicology).

Research Interests: His lab investigates mechanisms linking coagulation disorders with hepatic pathologies, environmental toxin impacts on immunity, and translational approaches to address gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary diseases. He collaborates with the Institute for Integrative Toxicology and the College’s Office of Research and Graduate Studies.
