James Lowder

James Lowder is an Assistant Professor at The Irwin S. Chanin School of Architecture at The Cooper Union. He holds a B.Arch from SCI-Arc and an M.Arch from Princeton University. His professional experience includes working with internationally renowned firms such as Coop Himmelb(l)au, Studio Daniel Libeskind, and Reiser + Umemoto. He is currently involved in residential projects in Georgia and Bolivia, and his work has been exhibited globally.

His research focuses on architectural design and representation, with specific interests in housing solutions and exhibition design. He has taught at multiple institutions including SUNY Buffalo, where he was the John and Magda McHale Fellow.
