J.W. James Leigh is a Lecturer and PhD candidate in the MA Euroculture program at the University of Groningen's Faculty of Arts. His research focuses on identity, memory, politics, and state-building in Central and Eastern Europe, particularly in the Western Balkans. He holds an MA Euroculture (2009) and BA in English Language and Literature (2005) from Groningen and Manchester Universities respectively. His teaching includes Eurocompetence development, theory/methodology courses, and MA thesis supervision. Key research interests include post-conflict nation-building narratives, cultural memory dynamics, and politico-cultural identity formation. He has presented at conferences on Kosovo's socio-political landscapes and contributed to publications analyzing European spatial politics and post-conflict societies.
