James Holyoak is a Senior Lecturer at Staffordshire University within the Health, Education, Policing and Sciences faculty. With a background in policing, he specializes in leadership development, cultural change, and evidence-based policing practices. He has contributed to strategic initiatives in East Midlands Police collaboration and pioneered Degree Apprenticeship Programmes in England and Wales.

- Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching in Higher Education (De Montfort University, 2020)
Research Focus: James focuses on serious and organized crime, police officer welfare, victim support, and the use of social media in policing. His work bridges academic research and practitioner needs, supporting police cadets through action research projects.
Teaching Contributions: He leads modules in critical incident leadership, ethical decision-making, and 21st-century policing strategy. He also oversees the Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship programme and End Point Assessments.
Community Involvement: As a Police Volunteer, James designed the innovative Step Up programme to enhance police recruitment diversity. He remains a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and an active member of the Society of Evidence-Based Policing.
