James Grant is an Associate Professor in Philosophy at the University of Oxford, serving as William Kneale and Le Rossignol–Clarendon Fellow and Tutor at Exeter College. He specializes in aesthetics, ethics, and 17th-century philosophy. His research explores metaphor, art criticism, and creativity's role in artistic merit. Grant holds a BA from Queen’s University (Canada), and BPhil/DPhil from Oxford. He teaches aesthetics, ethics, and early modern philosophy.
