Dr. James Félix is a Lecturer at LASALLE College of the Arts in the School of Contemporary Music. He holds a PhD in Music from the University of Leeds, UK, alongside advanced degrees from Birmingham Conservatoire and the University of Nottingham. His research focuses on authenticity in folk music, Portuguese fado, and the intersection of music with identity. He is currently investigating Portuguese musical traditions in postcolonial Southeast Asia, particularly Timor Leste.
