James Fisher is a Lecturer in Physician Associate Studies at the University of Surrey's School of Health Sciences. He has held roles since 2020 as a Visiting Teaching Fellow and transitioned to Lecturer in 2021. Clinically, he works as an Occupational Health physician at Health Partners Group. He qualified from Cardiff University in 2016, completed Foundation Training at Frimley Park Hospital, and held a Clinical Teaching Fellow role there in 2018. He holds a PgCert in Biomedical and Healthcare Education from St George's University London and a PgDip in Sports and Exercise Medicine from the University of South Wales.
His educational interests focus on transitioning students to healthcare practitioners, simulation training, and interprofessional education. He co-created the Developing Medical Educators Group (DMEG) and serves on the Academy of Medical Educators (AoME) Council and Education Committee, currently co-leading the AoME Membership Committee.
Affiliations include the Academy of Medical Educators, Royal College of Physicians (MRCP-UK), and Advanced HE. His professional qualifications include MBBCh, DOccMed, and multiple postgraduate diplomas.
