معرفی
James E. Haber is the Abraham and Etta Goodman Professor of Biology and Director of the Rosenstiel Basic Medical Sciences Research Center at Brandeis University. He is a leading researcher in DNA repair, genetics, and molecular biology, with a focus on DNA double-strand break (DSB) repair mechanisms and their implications for genome stability and disease.
His research investigates how DSBs—caused by radiation, chemicals, or replication stress—are repaired through homologous recombination and other pathways. He utilizes the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae as a model system to study fundamental processes such as mating-type switching and the initiation of chromosomal rearrangements linked to cancer.
- Department of Biology, Brandeis University
- Director, Rosenstiel Basic Medical Sciences Research Center
