Dr. James Clark is an Early-Career Research Fellow at the University of Cambridge's Department of Archaeology. He holds a BA, MPhil, and PhD from St. John’s College, Cambridge, where his research focused on the origins and evolution of Acheulean handaxes and Oldowan tool technologies.
- Research spans behavioral variability in Homo sapiens and earlier hominins
- Specializes in geometric morphometrics and experimental archaeology
- Fieldwork experience in Spain, Kenya, and the UK
His work examines how seasonality and climate change shaped technological adaptations, and uses these tools to trace population history and dispersal. James is affiliated with the Computational and Digital Archaeology Laboratory and Glyn Daniel Laboratory at Cambridge.
