James Cheung

James Cheung is an Associate Professor and distinguished song pianist/chamber musician at the Royal Academy of Music. He teaches in the Ensemble Piano and Vocal faculties, coaching singers and performing widely. His international collaborations include work with artists like Christian Gerhaher, Ian Bostridge, and Agata Daraskaite. He holds postgraduate qualifications from Moscow Conservatoire and teaches globally at institutions like Hochschule für Musik und Theater Munich.

• Education: Studied with Denise Erlandsen (Royal College of Music), Tatiana Sarkissova (Royal Academy of Music), and Alexander Mndojants/Bonduriansky (Moscow Conservatoire).
• Performance Highlights: Performed at Wigmore Hall, Amsterdam Concertgebouw, and festivals including Aldeburgh and Aix en Provence. Recorded with Christian Gerhaher on Sony's Schumann project, earning a German Record Critics' Award.
