James Cherrington is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Sport and Physical Activity at Sheffield Hallam University, UK. He holds a BA, MA, and PhD from the same institution. His interdisciplinary research focuses on the socio-environmental dimensions of physical activity, particularly mountain biking cultures, disability studies, and green exercise. He leads the Cultures of Mountain Biking (CoMTB) Research Group, an international collective exploring MTB's societal impact. Current projects include studies on e-mountain bikes and aging populations, policing thermoregulation strategies for armored officers, and women's experiences in bicycle repair.
