James Calvert is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Psychology at Southern Methodist University (SMU). He holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Louisiana State University (1989), a B.A. in Psychology from Clemson University (1983), and a postdoctoral M.S. in Clinical Psychopharmacology from Fairleigh Dickinson University (2007). Dr. Calvert is a licensed prescribing psychologist and has over 30 years of experience in healthcare, spanning roles as a practicing psychologist, program director, and executive director at various institutions. At SMU, he teaches courses such as Psychopharmacology, Psychology of Evil, and Psychological Disorders of Children, and authored the textbook Psychopharmacology: Drugs of Pharmacotherapy and Addiction.
