James C. Anderson II is an Associate Professor in the Department of Agricultural Leadership, Education & Communication at the University of Georgia’s College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CAES). His academic career spans roles in curriculum development, teacher education, and leadership training with a focus on social justice and equity. Dr. Anderson holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural Education from the University of Missouri, an M.A. in Economics and Entrepreneurship from the University of Delaware, and a B.S. in Agricultural & Environmental Communications from the University of Illinois.
His research emphasizes educational interventions to support underrepresented groups, including adolescents in urban agriculture programs and adult learners in diverse settings. Key areas include student engagement strategies, global education outreach, and capacity-building initiatives in developing nations. He has pioneered innovative teaching methods such as flipped classrooms and hybrid course development, while also evaluating leadership training programs for organizations like the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA).
