James Brown is a Professor at Aston University, affiliated with the Aston Law School within the College of Business and Social Sciences. He holds a PhD and LL.B, and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. His research focuses on Land Law, Equity and Trusts, Contract Law, and Comparative Property Law. He has extensive legal practice experience and currently supervises a PhD student examining non-contractual promises in private law. His external roles include editorial work for Trusts Law International and serving as an external examiner for multiple universities.
