James Brewer

James Brewer is an Associate Research Scientist in the Department of Immunobiology at Yale School of Medicine. His research focuses on Alzheimer’s disease, neurodegenerative disorders, and the interplay between genetics, neuroimaging, and clinical outcomes. He has contributed to major studies such as the EXERT trial evaluating exercise interventions in mild cognitive impairment and the Long-Life Family Study exploring genetic associations with late-onset Alzheimer’s disease.

Key research interests include the role of APOE and MTUS2 genes in Alzheimer’s pathology, neuroimaging techniques for assessing brain atrophy and dementia risk, and overcoming barriers to underrepresented populations in clinical research.
