James Averill serves as the Associate Director of MSU AgBioResearch at Michigan State University (MSU), overseeing on- and off-campus research facilities and grants programs. He has held roles such as Assistant Director (since July 2023), Director of Outcome Assessment at the MSU College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM), and Interim Director of the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory. Previously, he worked at the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) as Deputy Director, State Veterinarian, and Bovine Tuberculosis Coordinator.
