معرفی
James Archibald is a Professor in The Robert M. Buchan Department of Mining at Queen's University, affiliated with Smith Engineering. His work focuses on computer modeling of perception, memory, and attention alongside civil/maritime/transport/mining engineering systems. Research emphases include in-situ stress measurements, backfill material characterization, and environmental hazard mitigation in mining contexts.
Research interests span environmental engineering, materials engineering applications, and innovative ground support technologies. Current projects involve developing spray-on coatings, utilizing mill waste for in-situ support, and reducing acid mine drainage via spray polyurethane coatings. Professional activities include collaborations with government and industry on mining safety and environmental remediation.
