James Allison is an Associate Professor in both the Industrial and Enterprise Systems Engineering and Aerospace Engineering departments at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is also affiliated with the Carl R. Woese Institute for Genomic Biology. His research focuses on systems engineering, control systems design, thermal management systems, and optimization methodologies. Dr. Allison has contributed to advancements in fluid-based thermal management systems, floating offshore wind turbine control co-design, and AI-driven design optimization.
