James A. Jones is an Associate Professor in the Department of Informatics at the Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences, University of California, Irvine. He leads the Spider Lab and focuses on software engineering, debugging, and testing. His research emphasizes practical techniques for improving software development efficiency, with notable contributions like the Tarantula fault localization method. Jones has advised numerous graduate and undergraduate students and holds significant awards including the ACM SIGSOFT Impact Award and NSF CAREER Award.
