James Doyle directs the Matson Museum of Anthropology at Penn State. As Associate Research Professor of Anthropology, he curates collections and researches ancient American art, with exhibitions at The Met and Dumbarton Oaks.
Research reconstructs courtly societies in pre-Columbian Panama and Maya political landscapes. Current book project: Arts of the Ancient Americas (Thames & Hudson, 2026).
