Jamee Hubbard

Jamee Hubbard serves as Associate Professor and curator of the Entomology Collection at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP), where she teaches General Entomology, Introduction to Animal Biology, and Senior Seminar. Her office is located in TNR 463/CBB 216, and she actively mentors undergraduate researchers in field studies and museum curation.

Her educational background includes:

• B.S. in Biology from Central Missouri State University

Hubbard's research spans insect ecology across wooded and urban landscapes, with specialized focus on insects of medical and veterinary importance. She investigates insect-vectored diseases while leading hands-on projects including statewide mosquito surveys in Wisconsin and multi-year studies of magnolia scale biology. Her work integrates field collection, specimen curation, and pest management strategies through active student collaboration.

Analysis of her 2005-2007 publications reveals consistent emphasis on practical entomological solutions: scale insect management for urban forestry, mosquito control via barrier treatments, and innovative acoustic monitoring for soil pests. These works demonstrate interdisciplinary approaches bridging ecological research with public health applications and arboricultural practices.

Hubbard currently mentors undergraduates in mosquito ecological distribution studies and magnolia scale research, welcoming students interested in insect identification, collection curation, and vector disease investigations. Her role as curator of the UWSP Natural History Museum's Entomology Collection provides critical infrastructure for these research activities.
