Jamal Fajoui is an Associate Professor at Nantes Université, affiliated with the Institute for Research in Civil and Mechanical Engineering (GeM) and leading the Physical Measurements Department at IUT de Saint-Nazaire since 2019. His research focuses on multiscale modeling of heterogeneous materials, residual stress analysis via diffraction techniques, composite durability, and phase transformations in metals like titanium and cobalt.
- Current roles: Department Head, International Relations Officer, Campus Life Council member
- Research areas: Micromechanical behavior, hygrothermal aging of bio-composites, self-consistent modeling approaches
His recent work (2023-2025) examines moisture diffusion in bio-sandwich structures, directional corrosion in stainless steels, and strain-induced phase transitions in cobalt. He has supervised 9 PhD theses and currently advises one doctoral candidate.
Key collaborations: GeM Institute, Frédéric Jacquemin's Lab, and institutions across France, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, and Algeria.
