Dr Jake Bailey is the Associate Dean Student Engagement at Cardiff School of Sport & Health Sciences, Cardiff Metropolitan University. His work focuses on curriculum innovation and student experience, notably redesigning sport courses validated for their civic mission, including the Open Campus initiative, which engages local communities in physical activity.
His research interests span curriculum design, coaching pedagogy, and educational ethics, with a sociological lens on coach-athlete dynamics and institutional governance. He has co-authored studies in Sports Coaching Review and European Journal of Human Movement, emphasizing mentorship, embodied learning, and policy impacts.
