Dr. Jaimie Northam is a Lecturer in the School of Psychology at the University of Sydney, specializing in child and adolescent mental health. She leads the Growing Minds Check-in, a universal mental health screening tool for children aged 0–17 years, and contributes to the Child Behaviour Research Clinic and the Growing Minds Australia Clinical Trials Network, Australia's first child/youth-focused clinical trials initiative. Her research focuses on parenting practices, empathetic development, early conduct problems, and callous-unemotional traits in children. She is actively involved in advancing mental health interventions through digital tools and measurement-based care.
Her work integrates clinical psychology with translational research, emphasizing culturally inclusive approaches and multidisciplinary collaboration. Recent projects include designing digital mental health tools for diverse families and systematic reviews of universal screening methods. She has secured grants from Australian Rotary Health and other institutions to enhance access to evidence-based child mental health care, particularly for Aboriginal communities and marginalized groups.
