Jaime Sand

Jaime Sand, EdD, RHIA, CCS, CAHIMS, is a Professor and Associate Director for Student Engagement and Impact in the School of Public and Population Health at Boise State University, within the College of Health Sciences. She has been affiliated with the university since 2004, contributing extensively to healthcare education and curriculum development. Sand holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management and advanced degrees in Education, Curriculum, and Instruction from Boise State. Her certifications include Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), and Certified Associate in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CAHIMS).

Her teaching portfolio includes courses on revenue cycle management, health information systems, and public health, emphasizing both undergraduate and online learning strategies. As Associate Director, she focuses on enhancing curricular and co-curricular programs, fostering an inclusive environment, and ensuring student engagement through academic excellence. Sand's research spans interprofessional education, online learning efficacy, and healthcare documentation challenges, with a particular interest in medical coding and rural healthcare dynamics.
