Dr Jag Srai is Director of Research and Head of the Centre for International Manufacturing at the University of Cambridge's Institute for Manufacturing (Department of Engineering). He holds a PhD in Engineering, Manufacturing and Management from Cambridge, an MPhil, and a First-Class BEng in Chemical Process Engineering from Aston University. Previously, he held executive roles at Unilever as Supply Chain Director and Technical Director.
His research analyzes international production, supply, and service networks, with sector specializations in Food/FMCG and Pharmaceutical supply chains. He explores digitalization of manufacturing through advanced production technologies and digital solutions. As Co-Chair of Cambridge's Global Food Security IRC, he leads interdisciplinary work on resilient food systems.
Dr Srai is a Chartered Engineer (CEng) and Fellow of the Institute of Chemical Engineers (FIChemE). He collaborates extensively with industry partners and focuses on sustainable supply chain design.
