Jafri Kuthubutheen

Clinical Professor Jafri Kuthubutheen holds roles at the University of Western Australia (UWA) Medical School, Surgery department, alongside external clinical positions as a Consultant ENT Surgeon at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Fiona Stanley Fremantle Hospitals Group, Perth Children’s Hospital, and ENT Clinical Lead in the Kimberley region. He earned an MBBS (Hons), PhD, and FRACS qualifications.

Research focuses on otolaryngology, particularly cochlear implantation, hearing disorders, and surgical outcomes in ENT. Key areas include pediatric telehealth innovations, middle ear reconstruction, and MRI applications in Ménière's disease diagnosis. Over 95 publications and 3 grants highlight his contributions to otitis media research and clinical trials for anti-biofilm therapies.
