Jae-Do Park is a Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Colorado Denver, affiliated with the College of Engineering, Design and Computing. He joined the faculty in 2009 with 12 years of industry experience in electric machine drive systems and has since focused on flywheel energy storage systems and microgrid technologies. His research is sponsored by the National Science Foundation (NSF), Office of Naval Research (ONR), and private industry.
Education: PhD in Electrical Engineering (implied by title).
Research interests include high-performance machine/drive systems, renewable energy applications, energy storage/harvesting, and distributed power systems. Current projects involve DC-bus microgrid systems interfacing with wind turbines, PVs, and energy storage, as well as low-power harvesting for microbial fuel cells. He leads a state-of-the-art power laboratory offering courses like ELEC 3724 and ELEC 4170.
