Dr. JaeHwan Byun is an Associate Professor and Program Chair of the Master of Education in Learning and Instructional Design at Wichita State University (WSU). He joined WSU in 2015 and specializes in creating engaging, meaningful learning environments through aesthetic experiences. His research focuses on digital game-based learning, immersive learning design, educational technology integration, and learning analytics.
- Leads the NASA-funded PBLT Workshop for Middle School Climate Change Education with the College of Engineering.
- Serves as Co-Principal Investigator for the Center for Educational Technologies to Assist Refugee Learners (CETARL), managing digital game development for refugee language learning.
- Active in grant writing (NSF, Spencer Foundation, President Convergence Science Initiative Grants).
