Jadwiga Kowalska

Jadwiga Kowalska is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Instrumentology, Institute of Musicology, John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin. She also teaches organ performance at the Tadeusz Szeligowski School of Music in Lublin. A graduate of the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw, she further honed her skills at the Lausanne Conservatory (Switzerland) under Professor Kei Koito, earning the "Premier Prix" with distinction. Her career spans academic research, teaching, and international concert performance.

Her research and performance interests center on historical organ music, particularly Polish Renaissance and Baroque works, including the Tablature of Jan of Lublin and compositions by Mikołaj Zieleński. She has participated in significant artistic projects like the 400th-anniversary recording of Zieleński's complete works, which earned her major awards. She frequently collaborates with the "Collegium Zieleński" ensemble.

Jadwiga Kowalska's artistic activity includes concerts across Poland and abroad (Slovakia, Croatia, Italy, Switzerland, USA) and recordings for Radio Suisse Romande and Radio Chablais. She has been actively involved in expert services for National Organ Competitions and educational courses on organ music interpretation since 2006.
