Prof. Klaudiusz Baran is a renowned accordionist and bandoneonist, holding the title of Professor at the Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. He served as Rector from 2016 to 2024, leading the institution through two terms. His artistic career spans over 30 years, blending performance, pedagogy, and innovation in classical and world music.
Education:
- Graduate of Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music (1995), class of Jerzy Jurek
- Conservatoire Paul Dukas, Paris, under Max Bonnay
Research & Artistry: Baran transformed the accordion's role in Polish classical music, emphasizing new compositions and tango nuevo interpretations. He premiered over 50 works and pioneered the use of bandoneon in Polish concert halls through groups like Tangata Quintet and Machina del Tango. His performances with orchestras like the National Philharmonic Orchestra solidified his status as a soloist.
