Associate Professor Jacqui Cameron is an academic and practitioner with over 20 years of expertise in social work, focusing on complex social issues like domestic violence, mental health, substance use, and comorbidity. She holds a PhD from The University of Melbourne, a Master of Philosophy from the University of Glasgow, and a Diploma in Project Management.
At the University of Wollongong, she serves as Associate Professor and Academic Program Director for the Bachelor of Social Work. She co-edits Advances in Dual Diagnosis and co-convenes the Australian and New Zealand Realist Research Group. Her work emphasizes integrated knowledge translation and stakeholder engagement, with over 70 peer-reviewed publications including 25 systematic reviews.
Research interests span domestic violence interventions, refugee women’s health, youth substance use, and curriculum development. She leads projects funded by NHMRC, ARC, and others, including RESTORE CRE and Screening and responding to domestic violence in refugee communities.
