Jacqui Alexander is a Senior Lecturer in Architecture at Monash University and Director of Alexander & Sheridan Architecture. Her work integrates speculative design, teaching, and public dissemination of architectural ideas. She co-founded POST Magazine, winner of the 2009 Bates Smart Award, which has exhibited globally. Her research focuses on platform technologies' impact on housing and urban equity. She holds a PhD from Monash University (2023) and degrees from RMIT University.
Education: PhD in Architecture (Monash, 2023), Master of Architecture (RMIT), Bachelor of Architectural Design (RMIT).
Research interests span architecture's interplay with technology, media, and politics. Notable projects include the Supershared installation (2016) and Tenancy ≠ Title (2020), shortlisted for the 2021 ArchitectureAU Prize. Awards include the 2021 Emerging Architects' Prize and an ABC Arts Residency (2020).
Advising: Accepting PhD students. Grants include the 2024-2025 project on alternative land tenure models funded by the Alastair Swayn Foundation. Collaborations include the Monash Urban Lab and international design venues like the Vitra Design Museum.
