Jacques Ophoff is a Reader in Cybersecurity and Resilience at Abertay University's Department of Cybersecurity and Computing. He teaches security-related topics at undergraduate and postgraduate levels including security in software engineering, information security management, and human aspects of security. His academic profile shows strong engagement with PhD supervision, having completed over 70 postgraduate research projects.
Dr. Ophoff's research focuses on all levels of cybersecurity from individual to national perspectives, with particular emphasis on management and human aspects of security. His fingerprint analysis reveals significant contributions to information security (100%), cybersecurity (66%), security awareness (59%), password security (58%), authentication (48%), e-government (42%), security control (38%), and privacy information (36%). Current research investigates how to motivate secure behaviors in individuals and organizations and understanding resistance to security recommendations.

He maintains an Honorary Research Associate position at the University of Cape Town and serves as Associate Editor for the Journal of Intellectual Capital.
His supervisory work encompasses over 70 completed postgraduate research projects, indicating substantial mentorship activity.
