Jacquelyn Tuerk-Stonberg is an Associate Professor in the Department of Fine Arts at Kean University's College of Liberal Arts. She specializes in Byzantine and Medieval art, with a focus on magic, material culture, and women's studies. She is also a Fulbright Specialist in Art History and an affiliate faculty member in Jewish Studies.

Her work also extends to contemporary art, examining its relationship to medieval precedents and issues of cultural inclusivity and gender.
Publications and Exhibitions:
Her recent publications focus on Byzantine amulets, magical thinking, and the semiotics of early Byzantine art. She has curated numerous exhibitions, including those on contemporary art, the Holocaust, and feminist artwork. Her upcoming book, Medieval Magic: How to do Things with Words and Images in Byzantium, examines the role of amulets in medicine, ritual, and religion.
