She serves as Academic Lead for Imaging within the St James’s Campus Infrastructure Flow Cytometry and Imaging Facility. Her research focuses on neurogenesis, microcephaly, and high-content imaging technologies.
- Areas of Expertise: Cellular Imaging, Mitosis, Autosomal Recessive Primary Microcephaly (MCPH), BioScreening, ASPM Protein
- Research Highlights: Discovery of ASPM, CDK5RAP2, and CENPJ genes in MCPH; development of high-throughput imaging platforms for unbiased screening.
Her work integrates neurogenetic studies with advanced imaging infrastructure, including the acquisition of a Nikon A1R confocal microscope and Perkin Elmer Operetta imager. She contributes to undergraduate medical education in genetics and mentors postgraduate researchers. Scientific awards include the Wellcome Trust Research Career Development Fellowship.
