Jacqueline Suzanne Martin

Jacqueline Suzanne Martin serves as Director/CEO of Careum University of Applied Sciences for Health since August 2020. Previously, she held significant leadership positions at University Hospital Basel for over 30 years, culminating in her role as Director of Nursing/MTT with a seat on the hospital's executive board. She maintains active involvement in healthcare leadership networks including Sciana Health Leaders Network since 2017.

Her educational background includes a Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing Science from University of Ulster in Belfast (2012), Master in Nursing Science from University of Maastricht (2005), and Master of Advanced Studies in Adult and Professional Education from University of Kaiserslautern in cooperation with University of Teacher Education of Central Switzerland (2011).

Professor Martin's research interests span multiple critical healthcare domains including nursing science, health policy, health economics, and leadership development. Her work particularly focuses on clinical leadership programs, shared governance models, and management within healthcare sectors. She has developed various curricula and educational programs, with special emphasis on professional development for healthcare practitioners and administrators.

As Head of the program for CAS FH in Shared Leadership - Shared Governance and CAS FH in Management in the Healthcare Sector, she directs significant educational initiatives. Her teaching career spans over 20 years, including leading the CAS 'RCN Clinical Leadership Program' at the University of Basel from 2006 to 2012. She maintains multiple board mandates focused on strategic leadership in hospitals, demonstrating her influence across healthcare administration.
