Karin Peter

Karin Peter is a Professor at the Careum University of Applied Sciences for Health, where she serves as Head of the Study Program for the Master of Science in Nursing since February 2023. She previously held research and teaching roles at the Bern University of Applied Sciences for Health, leading modules in their Nursing program and heading the Innovation Field of Healthcare, Human Resources Development, and Competence.

• Education: Ph.D. from Maastricht University, School for Public Health and Primary Care (2015–2020)

Her research focuses on healthcare systems, nursing, and workplace stress, notably through the STRAIN Study, a major Swiss intervention study (2017–2021) addressing stress in healthcare professions. She has extensive experience in academic leadership and health sector roles, including as a nurse manager and expert at University Hospital Zurich.
