Jacqueline Pickett is a Lecturer in Double Bass Performance at Spelman College since 2021. She is a versatile double-bassist with expertise spanning classical, jazz, and hip-hop genres, having performed with ensembles like the Nashville Chamber Orchestra and Thamyris Atlanta Contemporary Ensemble.

Her research focuses on Music History, particularly exploring intersections between classical traditions and African American musical expressions. She has commissioned and premiered works by composers such as Pauline Oliveros and Terry Riley, while also organizing lecture-recitals on John E. Price's compositions.
Notably, Pickett founded the TORCH Academy (2012-2018) and the League of Women Bass Players (2021), both nonprofit organizations dedicated to music education and community empowerment. She currently leads MA JAZZ (Metro Atlanta Women’s Jazz Society), showcasing female artists through diverse ensemble formats.
