Jacqueline Lopez

Jacqueline Lopez is an Adjunct Instructor of Dance at Palm Beach Atlantic University's College of the Arts, where she has maintained her teaching position since 2006. Currently residing in Atlanta, GA, she continues her relationship with PBAU by co-teaching Jazz and Tap courses during Spring semesters.

Education:

• AA in Journalism, Palm Beach Community College

With a 40-year professional career, Ms. Lopez is an accomplished dancer, educator, and choreographer who has taught, choreographed, studied, and performed throughout the United States and internationally. Her teaching philosophy centers on uplifting and educating the next generation of dance artists through strong technical foundation, integration of historical and contemporary influences, and the communication of life experiences through movement. She has extensive experience teaching dancers at all levels, from novice to professional.

Ms. Lopez founded the dance program at The King's Academy in West Palm Beach, FL in 2004, where she developed curriculum and instructed students until 2012. At PBAU, she has served in multiple roles including co-director of the PBAU Dance Ensemble, rehearsal director, and guest choreographer. She created the Jazz, Tap and Pedagogy course curriculum still used at PBAU today (2006-2020).

• National Dance Educators Organization (National member since 2012, Georgia chapter since 2022)

Ms. Lopez has presented her choreographic works on various stages including Palm Beach Atlantic University (2006-2023), Room to Move Dance (2017-present), and Natural Movers Dance Concert (2023). She teaches throughout Atlanta and the Southeast, offering instruction in Jazz, Contemporary, Tap, and Dance Conditioning. In 2024, she became a certified teacher of the Progressive Contemporary Technique and is also the author of a musical children's book entitled 'My Meals Are Singing'.
